SCA Wat ze momenteel naar buiten sturen:
• -Tough day from a performance perspective
• -The FRO is missed
• -Keep on fighting
It´s been a tough day from a performance perspective for Team SCA. The absence of a FRO has cost us a lot in the lighter breeze and we have lost many miles to the fleet the last 12 hours.
We have been struggling to find the right mode on the J1 and have been forced to sail slower and with higher angles. The wind has finally picked up again which gives us more cards to play with the next couple of days on our way towards Cape Horn.Offshore racing is a tricky business.
A few days ago we were literally surfing down the line just 20 miles behind the leader Mapfre.
Today we are over hundred miles behind the fleet. It´s a painful fact hard to face, especially after close to two weeks of hard work and overcoming obstacles, not least the wipeout, all paid with sweat, aching muscles and sleep deprivation.
At this point it´s more important then ever to stay focused and motivated and keep on fighting for every mile. We all have been influenced and inspired by a man who definitely knew how to do it – with a smile on his face, our coach Magnus Olsson.
