De vrouwen in 3 uur tijd een achterstand van 43 mijl ze hebben zeker liggen schuilen achter het licht.

Latest news from skipper Sam Davies, it looks pretty cold and wet where they are but they are still smiling!
"Just coming into Cape Horn we have 25 knots of wind it’s not that much compared to what we had over the last few days. It has been 40 knots, 8 meters seas and massive snow storms and it has been freezing cold. But right now it’s a little respite for us, it’s actually flat water here going around Cape Horn, but we’re expecting to get another 40 - 50 knots in the next 12 hours as we start turning north towards Brazil"

The sun had just set when suddenly the sails caught some extra wind. Winches creaked. 30, 40 knots of wind. Rigging squeaked. Rokas tried, without success, to relieve the large J1 jib. The anemometer is ready to explode: 50, 52, 54, 55 knots of wind! The boat is at full tilt. Inside, the bags and suitcases are thrown around to leeward. On deck, screaming men do their best to save themselves but also the boat. What a force of nature! Any energy the sailors had left in them is squeezed out like an orange. Usain Bolt who, after completing his 100 metre sprint, is told to continue for another 50 metres. The final thrust of wind is too much for the jib.  With a loud crack, it's blown up. While the boat threshes, the torn headsail is lowered. It is damaged beyond repair in the process.

Team SCA rounded Cape Horn at 1142 UTC today, they join a special group who have sailed around this famous landmark. Congratulations to our 12 amazing crew and welcome to the club!
