LATEST NEWS: The International Jury has denied Team SCA’s request to replace their Race FRO (Fractional Coe Zero) with their pre-race FRO after their sail was badly damaged during crash gybe on Leg Five from Auckland to Itajai.
Sails are the engine of a boat. For Team SCA losing the FRO, was like blowing out the tyre of a rally car. Effectively we now have to try and repair the blown out tyre as best we can and then continue to race around the track on the equivalent of three and a bit wheels
FRO is op één na het grootste zeil van 235. M2.
Houdt dus in dat de meiden met een gammel zeil op weg moeten. Kunnen ze het eigenlijk wel schudden voor de rest van de race.
De reacties zijn er dan ook naar:
Team Vestas Wind can replace half of their yacht, Dongfeng is allowed to replace their mast, but Team SCA can't replace the FRO? Huh?
So you can rebuild a boat, or get a new mast, but no new sail?
